As part of sustained growth, Terra Summer is creating a new strategic role to structure its production operations and support the increased capacity of its manufacturing facility.
Position Summary
Reporting to senior management, the Director of Production is responsible for the overall performance of manufacturing operations. This role oversees production, industrialization, quality, and continuous improvement activities, as well as cost control and process optimization.
This key position is designed to support existing production managers and to guide the organization through a phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, oversee, and optimize manufacturing production operations
Lead and support production managers and their teams
Supervise the methods/industrial engineering department
Structure, document, and improve industrial processes (lean manufacturing, 5S, standardization)
Oversee the industrialization of new products and special projects
Ensure compliance with quality standards and occupational health and safety regulations
Monitor, analyze, and improve performance indicators (productivity, efficiency, costs, lead times)
Participate in planning and decision-making related to industrial investments (equipment, automation, CNC)
Contribute to the optimization and effective use of the ERP system (Odoo)
Play an active role in change management and in scaling production capacity
Required Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Significant experience in production management and team supervision
Experience in a manufacturing SME and in custom-made product production
Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership with a hands-on, shop-floor presence
Results-driven mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to structure, prioritize, and implement change
Excellent people management and talent development skills
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Languages
Bilingualism in French and English required
English is essential in the context of Canadian and U.S. markets
Working Conditions & Benefits
Permanent, full-time position
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
